Research Interests  Linear-scaling scientific algorithms based on multiresolution schemes; Grid computing involving geographically distributed parallel supercomputers, data archives, and virtual environments via high-speed networks; computer aided nanobiotechnology; and computational nanoelectronics.  Most recently, I have developed new multilevel parallel algorithms including: i) space-time multiresolution schemes; ii) fuzzy-clustering approach to hierarchical dynamics; iii) wavelet-based adaptive curvilinear-coordinate load balancing; iv) multilevel preconditioned conjugate gradient method; and v) data compression algorithm for scalable I/O based on space-filling curves.  Scalability of these algorithms has been tested up to billion-atom systems.  Current research projects include: i) hybrid simulations of biological systems integrating classical and quantum methodologies on a metacomputer; ii) parallel visual processing and multilevel rendering for real-time walkthrough in shared virtual environments; iii) graph-theoretical data mining from massive scientific data.
